According to research from Johns Hopkins University, the correlation between hearing problems and dementia is striking. Mild hearing loss doubles the risk of dementia, moderate loss triples the risk, and severe loss increases it by up to five times. This highlights that maintaining healthy hearing is not just about communication but is also crucial for long-term brain health.

Why Does Hearing Loss Affect the Brain?

As we age, damage to cochlear cells in the inner ear can reduce our ability to perceive sound. The cochlea is responsible for converting sound into electrical signals that the brain can understand.
